030: Monthly Retro
I hit the monthly mark, and I’m pretty happy about it. Like I’ve said before, the system I’m trying to create is improving my discipline, creating in public, and reduce my overthinking. When I first started writing, it would take me hours before I was ready to publish, and I was nervous about it the whole time. I was worried that each day needed to have this super high-quality material, and it needed to have the potential to be this instant hit.
Now? I’m able to do one of the daily blogs in about 30–60 minutes. I do the first draft, go and do something else to get my mind off it, and then come back to read through it with some fresh eyes. The only thing I worry about right now is what I’m going to write about because most of the time, I don’t know. A lot of it is off the cuff or stuff I read that day. With time, I’ll continue to grow, and I’m not going to lose any sleep over it.
Another change since the 2 Week Retrospective is I’ve added my discussions about the stuff I am building. My thought process, uncertainties, showing examples, etc. I want to be transparent with the whole thing. I’m going to keep doing this, and I’m sure I have blind spots on the stuff I could be discussing, so I’m always open to feedback.
I’m going to continue writing about insights that I get from my own experiences, good or bad, and things that I find interesting. A good example of that being the articles about Nvidia.
Starting in November, I will be shifting these retrospectives to the first of each month, and I’m looking forward to it. Stay safe, everyone.
I’ll see you all tomorrow.
